This program is for women and those who identify as women who have done enough personal work to know how to self-regulate and get support if the homework, which has the potential to go deep, activates an emotional or spiritual wound.

I cannot say enough great things about this program. It came at a perfect time for me, and helped me develop a strong foundation for this next chapter of my life. And Colleen is a magnificent leader, guide, coach and facilitator.
— Jackie, Wisdom Weaver program participant

Content

Sessions will include:

  • Journaling

  • SoulCollage®*

  • Guided meditation

  • Other creative modalities, and

  • Small and large group discussion.

*If you aren’t familiar with SoulCollage®, don’t fret; I can easily teach this simple, powerful process.

In addition to the group sessions, you have one optional 1:1 coaching/spiritual guidance session with me during the 4 months.

Each lesson brought new food for thought and the tasks were easy to weave into your every day thoughts on their way to fruition. Colleen set up each group with much forgiveness for whatever state of readiness or not you showed up with. Each online lesson was like a mini vacation for the mind to just reflect in a safe and loving space.
— Kate, Wisdom Weaver participant

Material Needed

In-Person Cohort
I provide all materials. If you have collaging images you want to bring, please do so!

For collaging, you will need to provide:

  • Your own collaging image

  • At least 2 blank 5” x 8 “ cards

  • Various ephemera (which I will explain in your welcome letter after you register)

I am so impressed with the wise choice of topics and the exceptional depth of this program – both of which are not that easy to find! And I am equally impressed by Colleen’s supportive truthful presence throughout. The combination of all of these things encouraged and enabled me to do some of the deep reflection and deep processing that leads to substantive shifts in perspective that have the potential for real healing and renewed growth.Colleen’s passion for this topic and her deep care for her students was always evident. And the safe spaces she created encouraged a very rich group dynamic where everyone’s life stories enriched us all.
— Christy, former Wisdom Weaver participant

Community

This journey is as much about creating community as it is about your own process. Given that, attendance at each session is expected.

About Colleen

As a 64-year-old woman, I have had the privilege to look back on my full life and make peace with my failures and regrets. I have also found forgiveness as a companion. You can watch my TEDx talk here in which I talk about my journey of forgiving the man who caused the amputation of my leg.

The process of writing my memoir, A Leg to Stand On, gave me the opportunity to reflect on the patterns in my life and use those to my advantage in my later years.

I have a 29 year marriage, 2 grown children, a large extended family, and have buried my step-father and both of my parents.

I spent over 20 years working in non-profits supporting marginalized people.

I am a certified Life Coach, a certified Spiritual Companion, a SoulCollage® Facilitator and Trainer, and a Women’s Retreat Leader.

“In this course, Colleen provides a wonderful opportunity for self reflection in the midst of a small community of other women who are journeying in this later stage of life. She has a warm quality of presence that facilitates a sense of safety among those she has gathered. She creatively has put together a variety of experiences that lead one into deeper awareness of Self and one’s relationships with others.

Cultivate Your Inner Wisdom Retreat
Apr

to Apr 13

Cultivate Your Inner Wisdom Retreat

Everything you need already lies within. But culturally, we are taught and encouraged to look outside ourselves for answers. We go to books, therapists, church, friends, and classes seeking the answers that we already have. And then we wonder why we're not living in alignment with who we know ourselves to be, we wonder why we're not happy.

Inner Wisdom can feel out of reach and nebulous. How can we cultivate our inner wisdom when we’re not even sure what it is? How can we hear our inner wisdom when the outside world bombards us with messages about who we should be?

The permission, validation, fulfillment, and love we seek is already seeded within our hearts, just waiting for us to cultivate them.

Join me for a sublime Spring weekend of reflective and creative opportunities to cultivate your inner wisdom and intuition and continue to use at home on your own.

It's all right there, waiting for you.

Content

This will be a weekend of activities and exercises that are both playful and profound. Included will be SoulCollage®*, writing prompts, dance, poetry, and time in nature.
There is no experience necessary for any of these activities. That’s the beauty of them: they are easy to learn and easily access what’s already within.

Where

We are meeting at St. Andrew’s House. Their lodge has traditional log cabin style walls, a massive stone hearth, and views of the Olympic mountains.. Their food is delicious.

Reluctant Allies: Exploring Disability and Chronic Illness

Reluctant Allies: Exploring Disability and Chronic Illness

Whether you have a disability or a chronic illness, there’s no doubt about it, your life has changed. Pain management, mobility issues, emotions, social challenges, and intellectual reasoning can all be impacted by not just the onset of a disability or chronic illness, but the constant interruption of them in our lives. Moreover, the managing the health care system can become a job in itself, making it is easy to identify AS our disability or chronic illness. We can be reluctant to see how our disability or chronic illness can be an ally and a teacher.

Though disability or chronic illness impacts us physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually, we are so much more than this one aspect of ourself.

Join me as we explore the challenges and gifts this loss has brought into our lives. Through mindful meditation, writing prompts, group discussion, embodied practices, and SoulCollage®, we will discover the role our disability or chronic illness has in our lives.

There will be one Wednesday evening a month from 5:30 - 7:30 pm and one Saturday a month (except for February; that session will be early March) from 10 am - 2 pm.

Wednesdays: Saturdays:
Jan 10 Jan 20
Feb 7 Mar 2
Mar 13 Mar 30
Apr 17 Apr 27

ONLINE
There will be one Tuesday session evening a month from 1 - 3 pm PST and one Saturday a month from 10 am - 2:30 pm PST.
Tuesdays: Saturdays:
Jan 2 Jan 13
Feb 6 Feb 10
Mar 5 Mar 16
Apr 2 Apr 13

Between sessions, you can expect to spend 2 – 4 hours of personal work to prepare you for the following session.

You either sign up for the in-person OR online option. You may not go from one or the other over the course of the 4 months.

This program is for women—and those who identify as a woman—who have done enough personal work to know how to self-regulate and get support if the homework, which has the potential to go deep, activates an emotional or spiritual wound.

Content

Sessions will include journaling, SoulCollage®*, guided meditations, time in nature, group discussion, and other creative modalities.

*If you aren’t familiar with SoulCollage®, don’t fret; I can easily teach this simple, powerful process.

In addition to the group sessions, you have one optional 1:1 coaching session with me during the 4 months.

Community

This journey is as much about creating community as it is about your own process. Given that, attendance at each session is expected.

We will have a private Facebook group in which to share freely, both your words and your creations.

About Colleen

As a 63-year-old woman, I have had the privilege to look back on my full life and make peace with my failures and regrets.

I have a 28 year marriage, 2 grown children, a large extended family, and have buried my step-father and both of my parents.

I spent over 20 years working in non-profits supporting marginalized people.

I am a certified Life Coach, a Spiritual Companion, a SoulCollage® Facilitator and Trainer, and a Women’s Retreat Leader.

A TESTAMONIAL

I loved how honest and earnest you were with our group, which immediately set the tone and made me feel comfortable opening up to the possibilities of the group dynamic.

Your voice carried a power of truth and strength that made a big impact on me.

I really felt the safe space you created for me to explore my thoughts -- you gave me room to tap into the wisdom I carry inside. ~ Glenda

I Am Not Old

I am not old…she said

I am rare.

I am the standing ovation

At the end of the play.

I am the retrospective

Of my life as art

I am the hours

Connected like dots

Into good sense

I am the fullness

Of existing.

You think I am waiting to die…

But I am waiting to be found

I am a treasure.

I am a map.

And these wrinkles are

Imprints of my journey

Ask me anything.

  • Trasfiguration Center (map)

REGISTRATION IS CLOSED.
STAY TUNED FOR INFORMATION ABOUT LISA AND COLLEEN’S NEXT RETREAT

We’ve all lived stories of great celebration and challenge. Those experiences, overflowing with tears, laughs, cautions, and lessons, can animate and smooth the pages of our next chapters as we mine them for their deep wisdom, and use them for illumination.

How satisfying and fun it is to find the gold of our own personal stories—some stories, so close and seemingly ordinary that the golden thread, the wealth of meaning hasn’t yet been discovered, even to ourselves.

Please join us in retreat to uncover your golden thread and weave it into your life. We will write, sit in the near- autumn sun, make SoulCollage® cards, walk the labyrinth, and enjoy personal exploration in the context of a carefully tended women’s circle.

Each day will feature the following:

  • Yoga or Dance

  • Writing prompts in creative non-fiction (memoir, poetry, flash fiction, free-style journaling, automatic writing)

  • Making and consulting SoulCollage® cards

  • Large and small group conversation

  • Unscheduled hours

  • Relaxation

About Colleen and Lisa

We’re both published authors and SoulCollage® Trainers who love to facilitate women with a dedicated growth mind-set, into deeper healing and thriving. Our women’s circles are both light-hearted and deep, and we find again and again that a carefully cultivated gathering brings exponential fun and growth. We love working together and are so happy to offer this golden retreat.

About The Transfiguration Retreat Center

Located on the grounds of the Society of Transfiguration in the town of Glendale, wooded paths, benches, a swing and other areas for private meditation are located throughout the tranquil campus.

Over labor day weekend, we’ll have the entire wooded campus to ourselves (along with the small group of nuns in residence).

Barbara Teague will lead us in morning yoga. “I have been hooked on yoga since the first class I attended nearly 30 years ago.  Using our breath to link our physical movement, asana with our spirit while working toward clarity and calm of mind during practice, deepens our ability to live a more centered and fulfilling life off the mat.  I am passionate about sharing this with others.  I have a background both in nursing and psychology, have earned my 500 hour RYT and also believe that yoga is valuable and beneficial through all ages and stages of our lives.”

“If I waited for perfection, I would never write a word."

~Margaret Atwood

“Stir together the ingredients of your imagination and intuition with a few powerful, cut-out images, and you can create your first SoulCollage® card. After that you will probably want to make a second, a third, and, over time, many more. Gradually you can create your deck of very personal cards. ...they will help you explore your Soul, your shadow, and your inborn gifts”

Embody the Seasons: A New Spring

Embody the Seasons: Wintering

Has this never-ending season of Covid
clouded your dreams,
caused overwhelm,
or kept you in darkness?

Join me for Wintering, a three-month program based on the Celtic calendar to help you embody the energy of Winter, the dark time of the year, a time to retreat, reflect, and reconnect with your deep nature.

Taking cues from the natural world, you will be encouraged to go within, slow down, and allow the cold of Winter to break your dormancy. The seeds of our dreams are nurtured and activated by the dark, cold Winter, just like the seeds deep in the Earth. You will have time for contemplation, opportunities to nurture your dreams, and find hope in the darkness

Embodied exercises, seasonal metaphors, and creative processes like SoulCollage® will offer you a roadmap to journey intentionally through the season.

The program is limited to twelve participants to ensure the connection and synergy that happens in intentional community.

PLEASE NOTE:
I encourage you to have a basic understanding of SoulCollage® prior to this program as we will be using this process during some of the sessions.
